Hydrogen peroxide reduces C. acnes cultures following shoulder surgery

Key clinical point: The Cutibacterium acnes skin burden following shoulder surgery is reduced with preoperative hydrogen peroxide.

Major finding: In a randomized trial, positive C. acnes cultures were reduced (18.6% vs. 34.8%; P = .047) by preoperative hydrogen peroxide.
